"The perfume starts with a strong floral bouquet before you dig into its wealth of red, black, and blue fruits topped with an array of spices and chocolate. The palate opens with a sublime purity of fruit, silky tannins, and zesty acidity, so you will find energy, meshed with concentration and elegance. The long, seamless finish is cpmplicated by accents of pepper riding alongside the seamless layers of fresh, clean fruits." * Jeff Leve

"Red and blue fruits, sappy spring flowers, violets, graphite, and chocolate all define the 2025 Château L'Eglise Clinet, a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc resting in 75% new oak. Coming from tiny yields with no saignée and very little press wine, the harvest ran from September 4th through the 12th, and the result is a rich, powerful, yet finesse-driven Pomerol with fine, polished tannins and a wonderful sense of freshness. It's going to require some patience, but it will undoubtedly be worth it." * Neal Martin, Vinous

"An excellent wine, even if not a great Dominus, the 2020 Dominus delivers waves of dark fruit—think predominantly cassis. A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, it's full-bodied and richly textured, perhaps a bit warm and open-knit because of the summer's heat, but with a long, velvety finish attractively tinged with mocha and dark chocolate." * Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate - Tasted: June 2023

"A magical, utterly profound wine in the making, the 2025 Château Montrose is a classic blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc that will spend 18 months in 60% new French oak, with 12% press wine included in the final blend. Pure cassis, graphite, liquid violets, and spicy wood define the aromatics, and it's sensationally pure on the palate, with full-bodied richness, beautiful concentration, ripe, polished tannins, incredible class, and a great finish. It reminds me of the 2016 with its finesse... and maybe there's a touch of 1996 here as well."  * Jeb Dunnick

Full-bodied with a very fine velvet texture. Extremely long and delicious. Intense finish. Amazing length The owner is Hundred Acre, and it’s coming through clearly. Drink or hold." * James Suckling - Tasted: Sept. 2025

"Among the Napa Valley's most crowning achievements in Cabernet, this vintage of Hillside Select is stunning, bright and beguiling in every way. Intensely layered, its interwoven flavors burst in black licorice, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, gun smoke and garrigue. Spicy oak adds to the power and weight. Drinkable now, it will show even better finesse in time." * Wine Enthusiast - Tasted: January 2018

"What must be one of the finest renditions of this wine, the 2021 Cardinale is composed of nearly all Cabernet Sauvignon at 91% with the remainder being Merlot. Stored in 80% new French oak before bottling, this is a massive beast. A brilliant mélange of blackberry combine with tar, graphite, anise and creme de cassis on the plate. Big and round, with refined tannins and a generous mouthfeel, everything is firing on all cylinders." * Owen Bargreen - Tasted: Nov. 2024

"It's brighter and fresher than the regular Estate bottling, with notes of fresh raspberries and cherries joined by cedar and vanilla. Full-bodied in the mouth, it's taut and zesty, its ripe tannins accentuated by bright acidity. Yet to be released, give it a few years to round into form." * Joe Czerwinski - Tasted: Jan 31, 2024

"A selection of the estate's best lots and barrels, Plumpjack's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve spent 19 months in 93% new French oak, yet it seems brighter and fresher than the regular bottling. Cassis leads the way, accented by vanilla and streusel highlights, while the full-bodied palate is expansive, supple and creamy textured, then long and silky on the finish. It's a really strong effort, with ample richness yet no excess weight and a flowing, elegant feel on the palate. Sampled under screw cap." *  Joe Czerwinski - Tasted: Feb 27, 2025

The 2025 Haut-Brion is, as usual, more reserved and austere at this stage than La Mission, unwinding in the glass to reveal notions of dark wild berries mingled with spices, pencil leaf and licorice. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and layered, it’s built around a multidimensional core of fruit framed by structuring yet well-integrated tannins, delivering a notably controlled expression of power and concluding with a long, perfumed, subtly ethereal finish. While still tightly knit at this stage, it possesses considerable depth—IPT (an alaytical measure of tannic concentration) levels exceeding 100, rarely observed—that is perfectly controlled and will require extended cellaring. Recent refinements in the estate’s approach, notably in viticulture, are translating into fruit of greater balance and freshness, even under the warm, dry conditions of 2025. It stands as one of the more impressive renditions of Haut-Brion in recent years." * Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate

An intensity of color that matches the intensity you taste, and feel, here you find a wine that coats your palate with its multiple layers of rich , dark, deep, black and dark red fruits coupled with smoke, tobacco, Cuban cigars, spice, dark chocolate, and burning oak embers. This incredible wine is perfectly poised on the corner of power, and intensity with an almost, endless, seamless, regal, and refined finish." * Jeff Leve, the Wine Cellar Insider - Tasted: Mar. 2023
