The intense and overtly mineral-driven medium weight flavors posses a lovely sense of refinement but with good power suffusing the balanced and firm finale." – Winery Notes

Made for the ages, but relatively accessible already. Enormously concentrated, but still light on its feet. You really feel that this must have come from a very stony site; those wines can be austere, but this is not. Very limited production. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold." – James Suckling

"Beautiful aromas of black and red fruits like blackcurrant and cherries. Subtle notes of bramble, violet, licorice, and fruits conserved in liquor. Scents of game, leather, moss, and even truffle, Sustained red structured, this wine lingers in the mouth without flinching. It has just the right balance between body and fruit. With its rounded tannins and mouth-filling generosity." – Winery Notes

"Very pure and precise, this has great elegance on the medium-bodied palate. Still tightly wound, but the intensity and refined chalky minerality in the tense, superlong finish are stunning. With aeration, a wonderfully subtle aroma of orange blossoms emerges. From a 0.25 hectare vineyard planted in the 1970's. From biodynamically grown grapes. Unfiltered and unfined. Drinkable now but best from 2026." – James Suckling

"Extraordinary and opulent, this densely concentrated, luxuriously textured flagship Napa wine by Florence and Daniel Cathiard of Bordeaux is their first vintage from the former Flora Springs Property. The wine is softly saturated with black currants, blueberries, spearmint and black olives for a comforting, mouth-filing expression that is at once powerful and gentle. It feels layered, deep and creamy." – Wine Enthusiast - Tasted: Sept. 2023

"What must be one of the finest renditions of this wine, the 2021 Cardinale is composed of nearly all Cabernet Sauvignon at 91% with the remainder being Merlot. Stored in 80% new French oak before bottling, this is a massive beast. A brilliant mélange of blackberry combine with tar, graphite, anise and creme de cassis on the plate. Big and round, with refined tannins and a generous mouthfeel, everything is firing on all cylinders." – Owen Bargreen - Tasted: Nov. 2024

"An excellent wine, even if not a great Dominus, the 2020 Dominus delivers waves of dark fruit—think predominantly cassis. A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, it's full-bodied and richly textured, perhaps a bit warm and open-knit because of the summer's heat, but with a long, velvety finish attractively tinged with mocha and dark chocolate." – Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate - Tasted: June 2023

"The 2016 Cardinale Red Wine is a thrilling blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Merlot crafted by superstar winemaker, Chris Carpenter. the wine was aged in 100% French oak (93% new) for twenty months before bottling. The stunning aromatics almost catch you off guard. Deep aromatics of creme de cassis, graphite, creosote, and blackberry compote all come together seamlessly in the glass. The freshness and intensity of wine is gorgeous, as the silky mouthfeel makes the wine effortlessly glide across the mid-palate. Deep dark fruits collide with chocolate covered espresso bean, tar and anise flavors all marvelously sing in unison on the palate. A truly stunning heavy hitter of a wine, the 2016 Cardinale Red Wine will be very long-lived." – Owen Bargreen - Tasted: Feb 2020
