The wine is pure silky, elegance in texture. This is perhaps the most sensuous vintage of Lafite ever produced with its dream texture on the palate. In the mid-palate, the wine shifts from black to red to black fruits before moving to its wave of orange citrus, ending with refreshing mint notes. The purity in the fruits is striking. The over 60-second finish is seamless, which is a good thing, because this wine is so good, you never want it to end. The wine is complete from start to finish." ** 8 - 100 Point Perfect Scores!!! " Vivacious, lifted style of Le Pin with layers of silky, velvety, black cherries, licorice, herbs, spices, and orange rind. There is concentrations, opulence, and most importantly, lift, so even with all the weight of the fruit, the wine feels up-beat, and vibrant, with lingering notes of crushed flint, and gravel stones, black plums, cherries, and licorice. The wine offers incredible length and energy wrapping up everything with a soft, but, firm, silky, refined finish." The structure is seamless, showcasing an excellent mid-palate with vibrancy, refinement, sophisticated touch, and remarkable aftertaste. It is just as captivating as it was when sampled from the barrel. The texture is reminiscent of liquid cashmere." * Izak Litwar - Great Wines from Bordeaux - Tasted: Oct. 2024

Drinking Window: 2020 - 2065 Size: 1500mL Critic Scores: 100 RP Region: Pomerol ABV: 13.5%"Made from 100% Merlot (one percent for each rating point I’ve assigned), this wine is explosively rich and compelling. Dense plum/purple, it boasts the remarkable delineation and freshness that are hallmarks of this vintage. From a much smaller production than normal because of Merlot’s poor flowering, the very hot, dry growing and harvest conditions, this is a super-endowed, very rich Le Pin with its exotic new oak largely buried behind its extravagant concentration, power and richness. I don’t know what its natural alcohol level is, but I suspect it is pushing 15% in 2010. Rich, tannic, but exceptionally well-endowed, this is a sublime example of Merlot at its very finest. Forget it for 5-7 years (which is somewhat unusual for Le Pin) and drink it over the following three decades." * Robert Parker - Tasted: Feb. 2013
