  • Drinking Window: 2018 - 2048 Size: 750mL Critic Scores: 99 RP, 95 CT Region: Mount Veeder ABV: 14.4 - 14.9% "The nearly perfect, inky/purple-colored 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder boasts abundant aromas of blueberry pie, ink, violets, burning embers, and camphor. The staggeringly intense, provocatively complex aromatics are followed by a full-bodied wine with exquisite concentration as well as a stunningly pure texture. One of the most prodigious 2007 Cabernets I tasted, it should provide magical drinking in 5-6 years, and last for three decades or more." * Robert Parker - Tasted: Dec. 2009

And when the oak further integrates, the wine will be even better! 92 Points. - Jeff Leve Tasted September 2019." *Jeff Leve Tasted September 2019

"Made from 100% Merlot (one percent for each rating point I’ve assigned), this wine is explosively rich and compelling. Dense plum/purple, it boasts the remarkable delineation and freshness that are hallmarks of this vintage. From a much smaller production than normal because of Merlot’s poor flowering, the very hot, dry growing and harvest conditions, this is a super-endowed, very rich Le Pin with its exotic new oak largely buried behind its extravagant concentration, power and richness. I don’t know what its natural alcohol level is, but I suspect it is pushing 15% in 2010. Rich, tannic, but exceptionally well-endowed, this is a sublime example of Merlot at its very finest. Forget it for 5-7 years (which is somewhat unusual for Le Pin) and drink it over the following three decades." * Robert Parker - Tasted: Feb. 2013

"Among the Napa Valley's most crowning achievements in Cabernet, this vintage of Hillside Select is stunning, bright and beguiling in every way. Intensely layered, its interwoven flavors burst in black licorice, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, gun smoke and garrigue. Spicy oak adds to the power and weight. Drinkable now, it will show even better finesse in time." * Wine Enthusiast - Tasted: January 2018

The fine, discreet effervescence transports us to a realm of elegance and refinement. Notes of flint marks the origin of this historic Verzy terroir. The long finish, both saline and chalky, confirms the exceptional terroir and quality of this Verzy 2014." * Winery Notes

The purity of fruit here is off the charts. The wine is all about silk and velvet textures from that point forward. The finish is so expansive, it feels like it keeps on going, moving across an array of flavors long after you've put the wine where it is supposed to go. This is the best wine yet produced by Jean Phiippe Delmas yet. Bravo!" - Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider - Tasted: May 2018
